The Temper Trap

with 2 comments

Saw The Temper Trap play last night at Postbahnhof, here in Berlin.

So great to see these fellas (and our fellow countrymen) doing so well, and it was certainly inspiring to see them play a sold out show here in Berlin. ‘Sweet Disposition’ was definitely a highlight.

And their tour van is pretty mackin’ also.

Took some snaps on my shitty little camera at the show, check them out:

And finally (so sorry to do this guys), some ridiculous cheesy snaps of the bands together. I am a little embarrassed to be posting these (clearly that embarrassment hasn’t prevented me, however).

10 hot guys hanging out.

Scott looks like he is possessed in this one. Like in a photograph of someone from the movie ‘The Ring’. He might explode at any moment.

More hot guys

Thanks for writing in… and the XX.

The XX #1

The XX #2

The XX #3

Hey there everyone!

Firstly, a big big thanks to those who wrote in their lists of top ten tracks of 2009.

It’s great to read over what you’re all listening to! Some really great tunes in there.

It seems there are quite a few of the same bands popping up, which is really interesting. Phoenix, Mumford and Sons, White Rabbits, to name a few. Is this because we all listen to similar radio, or because those bands simply connect well with people in general?

We all caught The XX last night at the Astra Lounge, here in Berlin. They played two shows in one night (both sold out), which is a sign that they’re doing something right. Check out the photos of the gig, above (taken with a shaky hand I’m afraid…).

They were really understated, but engaging also. Nice to see a band on stage at a big venue, not trying to blow you away, just playing their tunes the way they ought to be played. That takes balls I think – especially when playing to a crowd of 2500.

So we’re all on the same page, and the discussion can continue, here are some of the lists people sent in… Feel free to comment further…!
